My Role

As the Marketing manager of Semicolon, an Edtech company that trains students to become software engineers in a year, and incubates the students that go the techprenuership route.

I created content strategies to increase the company market share in tech training in Africa, launch new products and create awareness.

• Led a marketing team of 8 to host 15 events across a calendar year.

• Used analytics to determine the effectiveness of marketing campaigns. (Google Analytics, SEMrush)

• Oversaw the redesign of the website to include new offerings, communicate USP clearly and streamline onboarding of new users.

• Researched and analyzed market trends and competitors, and created shared communication that highlighted our USP.

• Developed and executed marketing strategies that increased company revenue by 20%.

• Stayed up to date with digital trends to direct plans and content for email newsletters, paid ads, and social media.

• Negotiated and managed activities with third-party PR agencies to support series A investment funding of $2million.

• Managed the design and production of promotional materials.

• Created a process for the team to work and track marketing efforts effectively.

• Created press release for product launch.

Key achievements:

Successful revamp of website within budget and time managing a team of engineers, designers, QA, UX writer using agile methodology that led to increase in sign ups for courses by 15%.

Led a development team in installing new tracking tags on the website that led to accurate data collection which in turn helped us increase conversion rate by 25%.

Secured and managed sponsorships for our monthly and quarterly events, while communicating with all stakeholders involved.

Successfully planned and executed over 15 events annually that includes cohort graduation, monthly community events, webinars, increasing digital footprint and brand awareness by 25% year on year.
